Butter Truffle

             Truffle Butter contains two different words meaning two different products; truffle is a wild mushroom grown underground and butter is a dairy product. Many of the mushrooms are poisonous and some of the mushrooms are used to make delicious food preparations. So one should be careful while selecting a mushroom. When the butter is ingested with truffle the product is called ‘Truffle butter'. Truffle butter can be made using truffle and butter or truffle oil and butter. Truffle oil is a mixture of truffle and olive oil. French and Italian cooks are the main users of truffle butter. Truffle butter is available in specialty stores and also online. Truffles can also be made at home.

Because of climate condition in which truffle grows it is available in few places of Europe (French, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia), USA (Oregon, Washington), some parts of Middle East and North Africa. They grow about one foot below the ground among the roots of Oak, Elm, Chestnut, Pine, and Willow trees. Truffles vary in shape (wrinkled Cap) and size (walnut to apple). Truffle hunting used to be done by using female pigs Female pigs recognize the truffle because of truffles male pig like scent. But once she finds she likes to eat them. So nowadays dogs are trained to find the underground truffle. These are the common varieties of truffles:

Butter Truffle

            The following two tips are used to make homemade truffles:

            1.

                        . Black/White truffles 2-4 ounces

                        . Unsalted butter 1 lb

                        . Put the butter in a small bowl

                        . Clean and fine grade the truffles

                        . Mix the butter and truffle smoothly

                        . Add salt as per taste and smooth the mixture

                        . Transfer the mixture into a plastic wrap and form a cylinder of 1 inch

                          Diameter

                        . Refrigerate for about 3 days.

                        . Butter Truffle is ready to serve and use.

            2.

                        . White truffle oil 2-4 ounces

                        . Unsalted butter 1 lb to make the butter truffle

                        . Put the butter in a small bowl

                        . Mix the butter and truffle oil smoothly

                        . Add salt as per taste and smooth the mixture

                        . Transfer the mixture into a plastic wrap and form a cylinder of 1 inch

                          Diameter

                        . Refrigerate for about 3 days.

                        . Butter Truffle is ready to serve and use.

Suggestions:

               . Add butter truffle on top of cooked steak to give a unique flavor

            . Add truffle butter to cooked vegetables and pasta before serving to add flavor
